Tristin + Tyler Featured In: Cabbages + Kids F/W Lookbook

Good accessories can make any outfit pop don't cha think? Cabbages & Kings is a children's apparel line that we've loved for years! Remember this shoot? It's one of my faves, specifically because of the scarves. Tristin + Tyler were asked to model for Cabbages & Kings F/W 2014 lookbook and we were so excited! The brand is run by an awesome entrepreneur and mom, Alexandra Gizela. Thanks to her, and just in time for back to school, you can say buh-bye to itchy wool scarves and hello to super durable + soft, handmade pieces from Peru that your kids probably won't lose because they like them so much! What's Cool: Marvel Universe LIVE!

I suprised the boys not one, but two times in one day when I picked them up from summer camp early so they could go to see Marvel Universe Live by Feld Entertainment AND picked up one of their best friends, Xavier, so he could come along. The three of them had NO idea what was going on until the cab driver asks the parking attendent "Which way to Marvel!" I was like UGH!!! There goes the surpise! Anyway the boys had a ball! From the pre-show VIP event where the boys got to meet the actors behind the masks, to becoming an agent with a special ID and taking combat lessons, the boyz were over the moon.  The special effects, high-flying super heros and acrobatic feats had us "ooh" and "ahhing" the entire time! #1FunThing: Play A Game Outdoors!

Happy Friday! This weekend's #1FunThing challenge is to play game outdoors! Whether it's UNO, Clue, charades or something else, head outdoors and play it and do something fun. The boys all of a sudden are so into playing chess. Honestly, I can't stand it. Too much thinking going on. I do so much analytical thinking at work so once I am "playing" I REALLY want to be "playing." I am glad they like it though, it really encourages them to think strategically.  Will you join our #1FunThing challenge this week??? If you do, we'll feature you right here on our site!

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Making the Band + Back to School

MAKING THE BAND:

School is quickly creeping up on us! I can't beleive there are only a couple of weeks to go! We're not too excited. It's the boyz last year in elementary school and I think we are all a little anxious about them graduating, making new friends and fitting in. I tell them their individuality is important, so fitting in is not what counts but ofcourse they want to fit in somewhere. We called this shoot Making The Band because it was a reminder that they can rock to the sound of their own music, and don't need to be part of anyone's song. Their outtits are already tons of funky, and the boys wanted to incorporate some of their instruments to show even more individuality. Love that they are taking on an active role in everything they do these dayz.

THE OUTFITS:

Do you see those Stinky McGee suspenders the boys are wearng? I mean really - so cool! They come with matching bowties and this brand makes everyting right in Brooklyn. Love supporting local artists and brands! The shorts and jeans are from our friends at MOLO - details, they are experts at them. Can you beleive UGG Australia made Tristin's blue shoes? Tris says they are super comfortable, and I love that they can be dressed up or down! Oh and Tyler's Jamz tee, he wears it all the time - it fits right in with our music theme! You'll be seeing more from all of these brands on T&T!

What's Cool: Kids Design The World

We are in Brooklyn a lot because we have family there on hubby's side, but since we don't live there, we rarely explore the different neighborhoods and get a feel for each area. I've been itching to explore and see what fun stuff I can find, so I was so glad to be invited to Kids Design The World, a new shop in Brooklyn where families can not only get really cool games, gifts and activity sets for children, your kiddo can actually design their own room! Yep, Kids Design The World (KDW) is all about letting kids get creative and use the products in the store to design a fun room for themselves. Afterall, kids always want to make their mark, you know? Why not do it through design? KDW also offers creative classes and an awesome backyard playspace, so whether your kiddo is learnng to design a t-shirt or getting some playtime in, KDW just about has it all. Tristin and Tyler took a class called Intro to Architecture. It was amazing to see how their idea of what a building was changed after they learned about the inspiration behind some of the most famous structures in the world. #1FUNTHING: Water Fight Challenge Kids!

1. Our cousin Madison celebrated her 4th birthday in Miami last weekend so she had a water fight with her godmother in some seriously gorgeous water. Ahhh, what a life she has!! Happy 4th Maddie-Cakes! You can follow along with Maddie and her jewelery line here!

2. The twin gals from @Twindollicious had an adorable gigling water fight in the Hamptons! Don't you love their matching outfits! These cuties came to our Polarn O. Pyret event a few months back and they are so sweet! Follow them here!

3. This little gal, Landen, and her sibling Rhys are just gorgeous. Landen had fun on the beach to get her water play in. So adorable...do you see those eyes!! You can check out Rhys and Landen here!
