Madison's Favorite Easter Suit

madisonlm2

Yep, I'm talking about Easter. It's a few weeks away. I feel like it was a week ago when I made boys bunny ears last Easter.

When I was little Easter was all about going to church and then getting books. I was (and still am) a big reader, so instead of a basket full of candy, I would LOVE to get up in the morning and see my basket full of new books. I'm such a geek, huh? Well, my niece Madison is no geek, she loves to read too but is super stylish, totally straight forward and she loves to run around and get her hands dirty whether she is cooking or crafting. For Easter, she definitely needs a pants suit so she can roll around and do what ever she wants but stil look gorgeous! I am in love with this suit from La Miniatura and her headband by Love My Alannah.  The suit looks good and was so comfortable for her. What do you think? Do you love girls in suits? I do! By the way, you'll be seeing more of Madison around these here parts, so get ready because she is one stylish little mama!

Tristin + Tyler Featured In: WAT-AAH! Soapbox Video

It's really hard to get kids to drink water, so any opportunity I have to support a brand that is encouraging kids to eat or drink healthier, I am on board. Have you heard of WAT-AAH!? Well if you've seen their cool water bottle designs, you could never forget them. Tristin and Tyler have been brand ambassadors for the company and they were a huge supporter of Tristin  + Tyler's TEN party. This water company is like no other - they are focused on making kids love water and they use social media and art to get kids excited about drinking up! Tristin + Tyler were asked to participate in their soapbox video a few months back. It was all about kids showing their talent and speaking up about drinking WAT-AAH! If you can't see the video below, check it out HERE or click the picture of Tristin, Tyler and friends and make sure to check out WAT-AAH! here:

For the Little Ones: #DIY Valentine's Day Balloons

VDAY 2015 all kids1 (1)

While Tristin + Tyler are not huge fans of Valentines Day (the words, "yuck" + "girls? eww" come to mind), they are big fans of making stuff. So when I thought about something they could do for Valentine's Day for someone they loved, their cousin Madison came to mind immediately! They would do ANYTHING for little Maddie. Madison loves balloons and anything she can draw with, so this DIY Balloon idea we put together for the petitePARADE blog was perfect! These boys are getting good, Tyler free-handed the panda just by looking at Maddie's dress, and created the emoji heart balloon, and Tristin did the LOVE balloon. To make your own for any occasion, head over to the petitePARADE blog for the full tutorial and more pictures! How cute is maddie in that dress? I mean..really!

Tristin + Tyler Featured On: The Meredith Vieira Show!

Happy Holidays, friends! We were so excited to be invited to the Meredith Vieira Show this week to chat about cool ways to spice up gift wrapping for the holiday season! From using black craft paper to chalk it up, to getting messy with confetti, the boys got a chance to show Meredith how they ROCK the holiday season! Meredith was really great to work with, as were all of her entire team of producers who put the show together. What an great experience this was for us. Not only do the boys continue to learn and grow from each television experience, like this one and this one, they get more and more greatful for the opportunities and THAT, my friends, is what I love most!

Please check out our segment below!! If you don't see the video, CLICK HERE to see it and feel free to share and if you do any of the craft ideas, let us know via social media and tag us with @tristinandtyler

What's Cool: Stouffer's Mac + Cheese

SONY DSC

Tristin is literally the macaroni and cheese king in my household. He knows how to make it himself, and he's working on making it from scratch with three cheeses. I'm pretty impressed with his love for cooking, but I have been looking for a way to make his favorite meal a little more healthy. Enter, Stouffers. Thanks to The Moms, we were invited to Make Meaning (one of our favorite places to craft) to check out the Stouffers food truck, try macaroni and cheese and learn tips for adding a twist to family favorites from Chef Donatella Arapia. I loved Donatella's tips for sneaking healthy ingredients into everyday meals so kids will eat them. Tyler literally devoured mushrooms in his mac + cheese, in ten seconds flat -- and he's never eaten mushrooms before! I've always been a fan of Stouffers frozen meals, but I never really thought of adding more to the box with different ingredients. Using Stouffers to start, I now I have a few new recipes to add to my weekly dinner routine. Do you have a meal that is a family favorite that you make each week? Do you ever try and spice up old recipes with a pinch of something new?

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Ruum Fall Favorites

SONY DSC

Hello, Fall! Surprisingly, I'm actually ready for fall. I love the crisp temperatures, wearing slightly more layers and snuggling up in a down blanket at night. For us, fall wear is all about having a few key items that the boys can easily throw on in the morning. What's essential? A jean jacket and a plaid shirt that matches with everything. I love this dark denim jacket from Ruum because it goes with just about anything, and it has a zipper for extra warmth. Lately, the trend is rocking sweatpants with everything from graphic tees to poplins, and the boys love it so Tyler is wearing sweatpants with the jacket, and the plaid shirt..see what I mean? So easy and cool. After all, comfort is all boys really care about! Plaid shirts are great for buttoning up to the top, or leaving open with a graphic tee under. What are your fall favorites? Do you get something every year that the kids just have to have?
