Tristin + Tyler's Weekend Picks: 3.6.15

the weekend 3,6,15We are so excited it's March already, that means Spring is really on the way! Im in the process of trying to lose some weight so I am not rushing Spring at all, but the boys can't wait to get outside, ride their bikes and hang with friends. Today is my husband's birthday, we are so excited! The boys made the cutest cards for him. He works on the weekends so I am hoping we get to spend some time with him outdoors in the next few days but, if all else fails, we'll definitely try to make our own version of this treat I loved as a kid with Jello, the boys will rock their favorite boots EVER and we're gonna see what all the hype is about on this new kids app. Hope you try these fun ideas along with us!

Oh, and if you haven't already, please SUBSCRIBE to our YOUTUBE Channel, we are about to really get our video on again and we want YOU along for the ride! HAPPY WEEKEND!

What's Up City Kid?! Adventure Time x Dr Martens Boot Launch Event

DocMarten-4399
You know we are HUGE fans of Dr. Martens boots, Tristin and Tyler literally rock their boots ALL the time, so we were SO excited to be asked to host the launch event for Dr. Martens collaboration with the Cartoon Network series Adventure Time! The limited edition boots, for both adults and children, include three designs featuring the series characters: one pair with Finn the human, one pair with Jake the dog and a final pair (my personal favorite) with both characters, and I hear more designs are on the way! Tristin and Tyler were ecstatic to host the event at Citibabes. With a huge play space, tacos and a surprise appearance from Finn and Jake, the party rocked for hours! Check out our recap video and event photos below, and make sure to get the Adventure Time boots HERE and SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube Channel here!

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Rudsak

RUDSAKMOUNTAIN1

Yep, it's still freezing. I mean single digits and everything. I am NOT a cold weather person at all. I feel chills all the way to my bones when I step outside - UGH. The boys, however... that's a different story. They love sliding on ice, falling and kicking up snow, opening their mouth so snow can fall on their tongue, and of course have a snow ball fight. Well, if they want to enjoy it, all I can do is make sure they're warm (and looking good!) when they are in play mode. That's where Rudsak comes in. Their coats are HOT. I mean, I can't really afford one for myself, and why bother, I only care about what the boys wear anyway (ahh, mommyhood), but I was so excited Rudsak sent us these two for Tristin + Tyler to rock. Not only did the boys say these coats were warm, they let them jump around, move and...did I mention they look amazing? I called these coats "fun and functional" -what else do you need when it comes to kids coats? If your kiddos coat isn't doing it's job, Rudsak is having a huge kids sale right now, check them out!

Stay warm!

Valentine's Day #DIY Marshmallow Hearts

valdaytybri2

Like I mentioned before, the boys aren't really into Valentine's Day, but I love all the mushy stuff that comes with this "holiday."  So...because I am crazy and have to just keep creating all the time (like I don't have enough on my plate), I had to think of a DIY the boys would enjoy in addition to our balloon fun. We invited their pal Bri over (who they've known since they were 5) for a super easy, milkshake and marshmallow DIY. This project is a no-brainer; the boys love chocolate and marshmallows so it's an easy activity that will satisfy their sweet tooth. We purchased heart shaped cookie cutters, these flat stackermallows and made heart shaped marshmellows for our milkshakes. I'm sure these marshmallows work well with hot chocolate too, but the boys really wanted ice cream so we made milk shakes.  This DIY is super simple and delicious for all ages (even the adults!). Honestly, the hardest part about making these milkshakes was trying to get Tyler and Bri to stop laughing long enough to take a clear picture!

If you try this tag us with @tristinandtyler on Instagram or Twitter so we can see!

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Appaman's Mod Suit for Valentines Day

appamansuit1

We are revving up our Valentine's Day posts with a little suit action, guys. You've already seen what cuteness Maddie is wearing, and what the boys are doing for her this Valentine's Day (there's more Madison cuteness to come, by the way) but now we're talking suits. If you're a parent of a boy, you know how hard it can be to find a suit unless you purchase something that is ill-fitting. I've tried a ton of different brands, but nothing compares to Appaman's mod suit which T&T are rocking here with their hot Love My Alannah glasses. The boys have been rocking the mod suit for years, we even separate the pieces to get more use out of them. Check out Tyler in the gray mod blazer here, and even on The Today Show here.  Not only are we talking comfort (Tyler is rocking that jump below!) and style, the quality is awesome. We've had that gray mod suit for at least 2 years and it looks brand new - although Tyler's sleeves are way to high, lol! Listen, when we get a good, quality item, we really get good use out of it! To see more Appaman, check them out here. xo

For the Little Ones: #DIY Valentine's Day Balloons

VDAY 2015 all kids1 (1)

While Tristin + Tyler are not huge fans of Valentines Day (the words, "yuck" + "girls? eww" come to mind), they are big fans of making stuff. So when I thought about something they could do for Valentine's Day for someone they loved, their cousin Madison came to mind immediately! They would do ANYTHING for little Maddie. Madison loves balloons and anything she can draw with, so this DIY Balloon idea we put together for the petitePARADE blog was perfect! These boys are getting good, Tyler free-handed the panda just by looking at Maddie's dress, and created the emoji heart balloon, and Tristin did the LOVE balloon. To make your own for any occasion, head over to the petitePARADE blog for the full tutorial and more pictures! How cute is maddie in that dress? I mean..really!

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Clarks Shoes

clarks4

Hello again! We took a little break for a week after the new year to re-charge and relax with family, but we are back now! How was the holiday season for you? We had a ton of fun with family literally being lazy on our couch and stuffing our faces. Now it's time to get you inspired to step your little dude's style, and with these temperatures in the teens and single digits here in NYC, we've got the PERFECT way to keep your kiddo looking cool, but staying warm. Say hello to Clarks!

I remember Clarks always being super durable and warm and these are the true classics, but have you checked out the style of these new boots? We love the details like the color pop in Tristin's and the awesome two-toned leather and weather-proof gor-tex material in Tyler's. Dressing boys up is always hard as they hate shiny, hard shoes --especally in the winter time. These boots dress up and down so well, and are comfortable enough that the boys can run and play in them. Want the kids to be warm AND look stylish? Here's your ticket - you're welcome! Make sure to check out Clarks and the huge boot sale they have going on! Stay warm! xx
