Tristin + Tyler's Wkend Picks: 2.21.15

the weekend 2.21.15I can't beleieve NYC is still under a deep freeze! I know it's all I talk about on this blog lately, but I literally cringle when I go outside. I hope you are all fairing better than us New Yorkers this month.

This weekend it's all about loving the classics.  From these awesome velcro sneakers from Adidas collaboration with Star Wars, to letting the little ones enjoy tons of  musical entertainment on a street we all grew up loving! Oh, and this delish treat lets the kids get hands on - literally.  It may look creepy, but we're going to try it! if you do it too, share images with us by tagging @tristinandtyler.

Hope you try one of our picks! Happy Weekend, stay warm!

Tristin + Tyler Featured In: WAT-AAH! Soapbox Video

It's really hard to get kids to drink water, so any opportunity I have to support a brand that is encouraging kids to eat or drink healthier, I am on board. Have you heard of WAT-AAH!? Well if you've seen their cool water bottle designs, you could never forget them. Tristin and Tyler have been brand ambassadors for the company and they were a huge supporter of Tristin  + Tyler's TEN party. This water company is like no other - they are focused on making kids love water and they use social media and art to get kids excited about drinking up! Tristin + Tyler were asked to participate in their soapbox video a few months back. It was all about kids showing their talent and speaking up about drinking WAT-AAH! If you can't see the video below, check it out HERE or click the picture of Tristin, Tyler and friends and make sure to check out WAT-AAH! here:

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Rich Boys

valday1

I'm pretty much always scouring the web for cool brands for Tristin and Tyler. My goal is to feature items for boys that you won't see anywhere else.  With that in mind, I was so glad to find Rich Boys. I love that this brand all about abundunce and making a statement for little dudes. They have the cutest boys rocking items you'd only see on grown men, and boy do these little guys exude confidence - check out their site. LOVE IT. Are these snoopy pants and Tyler's patent leather shirt awesome? I love the bright colors in the Snoopy pants, you can truly rock them with anything on top like we did here with an Appaman blazer. Tyler's shirt practically glows, it's such a cool top. If you're looking for unique, stand out pieces, Rich Boys is your brand. Check them out here!

Tristin and Tyler have had drop crotch pants before, but with Snoopy on them? NEVER. These pants are a whole different level of awesome.

Valentine's Day #DIY Marshmallow Hearts

valdaytybri2

Like I mentioned before, the boys aren't really into Valentine's Day, but I love all the mushy stuff that comes with this "holiday."  So...because I am crazy and have to just keep creating all the time (like I don't have enough on my plate), I had to think of a DIY the boys would enjoy in addition to our balloon fun. We invited their pal Bri over (who they've known since they were 5) for a super easy, milkshake and marshmallow DIY. This project is a no-brainer; the boys love chocolate and marshmallows so it's an easy activity that will satisfy their sweet tooth. We purchased heart shaped cookie cutters, these flat stackermallows and made heart shaped marshmellows for our milkshakes. I'm sure these marshmallows work well with hot chocolate too, but the boys really wanted ice cream so we made milk shakes.  This DIY is super simple and delicious for all ages (even the adults!). Honestly, the hardest part about making these milkshakes was trying to get Tyler and Bri to stop laughing long enough to take a clear picture!

If you try this tag us with @tristinandtyler on Instagram or Twitter so we can see!

Tristin + Tyler's Weekend Picks: 2.6.15

the weekend 2.6.15

Happy Weekend!

It's freezing here in New York City, I mean FREEZING. I'm talking 10 degrees and below. Times like these make me think of moving to Calfornia. Is it obvious that I'm not a cold weather kind of person AT ALL? Okay, back to the fun: this weekend our picks for what to do with the kiddos include a super fun movie, delicious cupid kebobs just in time for Valentine's Day and a fun peek at a kids Spring/Summer clothing line that is super whimsical. Hope you check it all out! Enjoy!

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Appaman's Mod Suit for Valentines Day

appamansuit1

We are revving up our Valentine's Day posts with a little suit action, guys. You've already seen what cuteness Maddie is wearing, and what the boys are doing for her this Valentine's Day (there's more Madison cuteness to come, by the way) but now we're talking suits. If you're a parent of a boy, you know how hard it can be to find a suit unless you purchase something that is ill-fitting. I've tried a ton of different brands, but nothing compares to Appaman's mod suit which T&T are rocking here with their hot Love My Alannah glasses. The boys have been rocking the mod suit for years, we even separate the pieces to get more use out of them. Check out Tyler in the gray mod blazer here, and even on The Today Show here.  Not only are we talking comfort (Tyler is rocking that jump below!) and style, the quality is awesome. We've had that gray mod suit for at least 2 years and it looks brand new - although Tyler's sleeves are way to high, lol! Listen, when we get a good, quality item, we really get good use out of it! To see more Appaman, check them out here. xo

What's Cool? The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water!

spongobob20151

The boys have been huge fans of Spongebob since...forever, really, so they were super excited to get to see the film before it opens in theatres this Friday, February 6th - we even brought cousing Madison along. Thanks to our friends, the Moms, we got a chance to see the film and hang out with two of its stars! I NEVER spoil movies, so I won't give you too many details. But, I will say that despite flashes of Patrick's butt and birds poo-ing (both things that kids find hilarious), as a parent, I liked that the underlying theme of the movie was about bringing people together to solve a common issue. In an age of bullying and kids that are in cliques that exclude others, it's nice that the movie showed how coming together, even with someone who may be your "enemy", can help the greater good. I can't help but also love the makeover's the characters got! Check out Spongebob's abs in the photo below!  Make sure to check out the film with your kiddos this weekend and visit here to learn more about it!
