Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Boys Flower Gap Shorts

gapshorts1.jpg

gapshorts1 I get excited when I see brands taking a little risk with boys clothes. Flowered shorts for boys?  I'll take two please! When I first pulled out these shorts, Tyler was ALL for them, he loved them actually, and Tristin...ehhh not so much - he was a little hesitant about them. But honestly, I think my boys know great style and how to mix and match pieces when an item really rocks -- so about thirty minutes later (as I expected), Tristin ending up loving the shorts and was running around in them like he had on his most comfortable sweats. He gets it, yep he gets it. My job might just be done. :)  What do you think about switching up boys and girls' style with things that are traditionally for the other gender?

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: White Jeans

WHTJN2.jpg

whtjn text2

You know I always say that it's SO easy to shop for gals because brands make such a variety of clothing styles, patterns and textures for girls. For boys....not so much. I make it a point to do things with Tristin + Tyler that most parents won't do with boys because I just have to switch it up!  Take white denim for instance. Yes, I know, you're asking "am I crazy to put boys in white jeans?" The answer is: yes, I am. Now that the boys are older, I can go a little "over the top" and style the boys in white jeans for a lunch date or audition. Why not? Now, you won't see them in white denim on a play date to the ice cream shop, but when they have to hang with mom or attend a meeting - I can go crazy! Don't they look ready for a Spring outing? LOVE!

Plus these looks are super easy, try it out. I personally don't like white jeans with black shoes, but if you have brown or blue shoes, or white with details like Tristin Stella sneakers, you've got it made. What do you think about white clothing on kiddos? Totally against it, or all for it - for the right occasion?

Tristin Featured In: Kenneth Cole Kids Ad Campaign

You may not know this, but Tristin and Tyler model and act individually in addition to working with companies under the "Tristn + Tyler" brand. The boys have an agent and spend a ton of time in and out of auditions after school and on weekends. They book some, don't book others - it's truly a crazy busy game that can really mess with your child's confidence level if they don't get things they really want, but they love the opportunity and challenge to show their stuff, so I make it happen for them!

I'm excited to share a few images from the Kenneth Cole Reaction SS 2015 campaign featuring Tristin! The images are on their website and in a certain department stores - definitely snap a shot and hashtag #tristinandtyler if you ever see them! I am a big fan of Kenneth Cole for boys, their shoes are so durable! What do you think of the images, pretty slick huh? Below are a few behind the scenes images too. Tristin had so much fun playing with the dog that was in the photo studio. He was also a big fan of people waitiing on him, doing his hair and tailoring his outfit. It was cute to see how professional he was during it all.

Oh, and by the way the boys want to start vlogging so look out for some videos on their YouTube channel going behind the scenes of their lives! They are excited to do stuff that's not scripted so this should be interesting...I mean super fun! Subscribe to their YouTube Channel here so you don't miss anything!

Tristin + Tyler's Threads: Hey Grey!

heygray2

It's time to shed the layers and transition to Spring! I am excited, but you know as well as I do that there are still a few chilly weeks ahead (today it was 20 degrees out, by the way) so we are easing our way into Spring with Tristin in a few key pieces in a grey color scheme, and we've included some our fave picks like these paint-splattered sweats by Munster that we got thanks to our pals at Babesta. I also love pairing a tee with a heavier jacket, like this one from Zara to get the last few wears out of it before the weather breaks. What do you think of grey? I try not to associate colors with a season, but I think most people think of grey as a Winter color. Do you? I honestly wear it all year round (as us New Yorker's usually do with black), especially when cool pieces like this Vicarious Clothing tee are involved! Do you agree or no? xo, Tiffany

Madison's Favorite Easter Suit

madisonlm2

Yep, I'm talking about Easter. It's a few weeks away. I feel like it was a week ago when I made boys bunny ears last Easter.

When I was little Easter was all about going to church and then getting books. I was (and still am) a big reader, so instead of a basket full of candy, I would LOVE to get up in the morning and see my basket full of new books. I'm such a geek, huh? Well, my niece Madison is no geek, she loves to read too but is super stylish, totally straight forward and she loves to run around and get her hands dirty whether she is cooking or crafting. For Easter, she definitely needs a pants suit so she can roll around and do what ever she wants but stil look gorgeous! I am in love with this suit from La Miniatura and her headband by Love My Alannah.  The suit looks good and was so comfortable for her. What do you think? Do you love girls in suits? I do! By the way, you'll be seeing more of Madison around these here parts, so get ready because she is one stylish little mama!
