For the next two posts of The Weekend What? Tristin and Tyler are hanging out in Chelsea, NYC. Chelsea runs from about 14th street to 30th street on the Westside of Manhattan.
Yesterday we had fun hanging at Lightship Frying Pan. Lightship Frying Pan is a restaurant boat that is docked on Pier 66a in the Hudsen River Park at West 26th Street. On your next weekend adventure, check it out If you want to try something a little different and enjoy a water view without heading down to the South Street Seaport.
There's a bit of history to this boat, which I love: "After being abandoned for 10 years while docked at an old oyster cannery in the Chesapeake Bay" the boat sank and was "underwater for three years before being raised by salvors. Instead of going to the scrapyard, the ship was sold to its present owners." The ship was later "outfitted with a new engine and, in 1989, was sailed to New York City. While the outside of the ship has been restored to her original appearance, the inside retains the barnacle-encrusted, sunken-ship motif that acknowledges her storied past."
